I have been living with auto transform handles on my objects for the past week and wondering how to turn it off.
I searched, found nothing.
Then, I found a freaking button I’ve never seen before (clearly):
Show Transform Controls.
Turn it off. Fixed.

Wow…I’ve never ever paid attention to that check box until I had the same problem you did. Thanks for pointing that out. FIXED. Moving on…
Exactly.. I was really frustrated that I couldn’t find this information online!
I have been living with auto transform handles on my objects for the past one minute and wondering how to turn it off.
I searched, found you.
Looked right after reading this and what should be staring me in the face? but the ‘Show Transform Controls’ tick box….thanks!

really thanks!
Thanks so much, you just lowered my blood pressure with this tip!
Thank you! It’s bugging a couple days now. I must have hit button by accindent. It’s an annoying feature. I work with a Dutch version of Photoshop and the description of this toggle thing is very unclear – I would never have found it 🙂
